Surface Water Sources
Mary Rhodes Pipeline
For decades, the Mary Rhodes Pipeline (MRP) has been the lifeline connecting Corpus Christi to its secondary water sources. This 141-mile pipeline stretches across South Texas, carrying water from Lake Texana and the Colorado River to the City. It is one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure the City owns, and maintaining its reliability has never been more important.

Throughout its history, the pipeline and its pumping system have been operated with great care. The City has consistently analyzed the system’s performance and implemented recommended improvements whenever needed.
